Overview
LessonWorks ("we," "us") provides an operations platform used by tutoring organizations and their families, students, and tutors. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using LessonWorks you agree to this Policy.
Information we collect
- Account information. Name, email, role, and the organization you belong to.
- Family and student records. Information uploaded by your organization (contact details, grade level, session history, billing records).
- Phone number and SMS opt-in. If you enable SMS notifications, we store your mobile number, the date and time of your opt-in, and a record of the verification code we sent to confirm you own the number.
- Usage data. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) used to operate and secure the service.
How we use information
- Deliver and operate the LessonWorks platform.
- Send transactional notifications (session reminders, booking requests, billing) by email and, where you have opted in, SMS.
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
SMS and mobile information sharing
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subprocessors (described below) is solely for the purpose of delivering the SMS messages you have requested (for example, our telecommunications carrier delivers the text messages). The text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party for marketing.
Service providers (subprocessors)
We use a small set of vendors to operate the service. They process data only to deliver their service to us:
- Supabase — application database and authentication.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Twilio — SMS message delivery and carrier routing for opted-in users.
- Stripe — payment processing for billing features.
Your choices
- SMS opt-out. You can stop SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message we send, or by clicking "Disable SMS" on your profile page. You can also reply HELP for support.
- Email. You can manage email notifications from your profile and the relevant settings pages.
- Access and deletion. Contact your organization administrator, or us, to request a copy of or deletion of your personal information.
Security
We protect data with encryption in transit, role-based access controls, and row-level security in our database. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong password and notify us of suspected unauthorized access.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted in the application. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
